| Serrala | Legacy | Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable | AP Automation | ERP | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Bed Bath & Beyond implemented Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable as an AP Automation deployment to standardize invoice intake and payables processing. The project included testing of interfaces between Dolphin VIM and SAP for invoice posting and focused on integrating AP workflows into the broader finance landscape to support FI postings and downstream record to report flows.
Configuration work alongside the Serrala FinanceSuite Accounts Payable implementation covered payment and exception handling capabilities, including Promises to Pay, Dispute Management, and Deductions Management to interpret and record part payments impacting AR. The team also configured AR interest calculation with variants, assessment and distribution cycles to allocate indirect costs to cost centers, and WBS structures to capture production related overheads and settle those costs into COPA.
Integrations were a prominent element of the implementation, with explicit interfaces between Dolphin VIM and SAP for invoice posting, Concur to FI via ALE for FI postings, and support for SLAN Nakisa interface and FI flow validation in SAP to address IFRS15 requirements. The program also supported changes for revenue recognition such as moving customer pick up allowance into revenues for IFRS16 alignment, and included research and remediation of unsettled costs, settlement rules, and sender and receiver definitions.
Governance and master data controls were formalized during the rollout, including definition of dunning procedures, dunning forms and dunning levels, maintenance of derivation strategies for reporting, updates to the COPA transfer structure, and mass assignments of profit centers to company code with default account assignments for cost elements. The work also produced mapping of WBS in the R2R system for CRM coupons and promotions, budget and settlement rules to final product, and accrual reporting for trade spend to support consistent COPA reporting.
Operational scope spanned core finance functions, specifically Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Record to Report, revenue recognition and trade spend accounting, with ongoing support activities covering PEC updates, COPA interfaces, Top Down distributions and COPA master data maintenance. The implementation emphasized interface validation, master data governance and process controls to sustain AP Automation operations within the finance value chain.

| Sterling Talent Solutions | Legacy | Sterling Background Check | BackGround Screening | HCM | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, Bed Bath & Beyond implemented Sterling Background Check, a Sterling Talent Solutions application in the BackGround Screening category. The deployment focused on recruiting and HR operations and is reflected in HR Recruiting Admin activities at the Port Reading, NJ site where Sterling Background Check is used to support candidate screening workflows.
Sterling Background Check is used to run pre-employment background checks, credit checks, and drug screens, with recruiters submitting online screening requests and accessing drug screen status for potential new hires. The application is used in concert with manual HR tasks such as I-9 verification, preparation of new employee files, and maintenance and auditing of personnel records.
Operational workflows show explicit touchpoints with Workday and JDA, recruiters manage the Applicant Process in Workday and update JDA with employee change requests while invoking Sterling for screening transactions. Screening requests are initiated from internal recruiting workflows and screening outcomes are tracked alongside applicant records and HR change requests, providing a screening control point within the hiring pipeline.
Governance and process responsibilities reside with HR recruiting administrators and recruiting managers who submit requests, assist with pre-employment checks, perform orientations, and manage reporting and paperwork. The implementation embedded Sterling Background Check into core hiring routines, aligning background and drug screening capabilities with applicant management, onboarding paperwork, and ongoing personnel file maintenance.
