Belk in 2012 selected and began deploying Oracle E-Business Suite to replace a legacy ERP for core financial operations. The implementation concentrated on ERP Financial modules—General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets and Oracle E-Business Tax—and extended to supply chain modules including Purchasing, Inventory and Order Management. Project work established enterprise configuration (Business Group, HR Organization, Operating Units, Inventory Organization, Legal Entity, Calendar and Ledger) and defined Accounting Flexfields for the ledger and sub-ledgers. Data conversion and cutover used Web ADI and Data Loader to upload supplier, customer and employee master data plus trial balance and opening balances. Functional documentation, end-user training, and ongoing support for financial, supply chain and HRMS/OPM issues were part of the deployment scope, indicating coverage across head‑office and factory/site operations.
