In 2020 Benelli Armi implemented MCM jFMX, a Manufacturing Execution System from MCM Group, to provide supervisory control and shop floor orchestration for a dedicated milling cell. The deployment positioned MCM jFMX as a supervisor layer tasked with managing a line of five 4 axis milling machines and coordinating CNC operator activities.
MCM jFMX was configured with a supervisor module and JFMX software components for machine connectivity, real time production data capture, job dispatching, CNC program management, and operator terminal interfaces. The implementation emphasized shop floor execution capabilities typical of a Manufacturing Execution System, including work order execution, traceability of machining steps, and operator-driven cycle control.
Integrations were implemented directly to the machining and automation assets on the cell, including connectivity to MCM S.p.A. mod. CLOCK sw CN Z32 controls on the five 4 axis milling machines, and integration with a FANUC ARC MATE 120 anthropomorphic robot that handled raw materials and semi finished components. The operational scope covered the Urbino, Marche site and affected core manufacturing functions such as CNC operations, materials handling, and cell level supervision.
Governance centered on operator led supervision, with the CNC Operator 4/5 Axis Milling Machines role operating the cell under the JFMX supervisor, reflecting on shift level ownership of machine setup and execution from July 2020 to June 2021. Workflows were reoriented around the MCM jFMX supervisor and operator interfaces to centralize job dispatching and machine state visibility at the cell level.
