Governance changes included making sales representatives accountable for territory budgets as part of compensation and instituting regular profitability reviews with leadership. Baselines were created to measure the profitability impact of discounts and incentives offered to distributors and customers, and spending controls were instituted to review opportunity level profitability. Measured outcomes included full automation of reporting into Excel, establishment of company and territory budgets, and vendor consolidation and purchasing optimization that realized 170000 dollars in savings between materials and freight.
