In 2021 Birddogs implemented ShipWise Web App as its Shipping Management application to centralize ecommerce shipping and fulfillment workflows. The deployment targeted Birddogs ecommerce operations and customer service functions, using the ShipWise Web App as a cloud-hosted shipping control plane for order processing, label generation, and outbound tracking.
Configuration work focused on standard Shipping Management capabilities, including carrier account provisioning, automated label creation, batch shipping runs, carrier rate selection rules, and shipment tracking. ShipWise Web App was configured with automation rules and shipping profiles to align parcel handling with Birddogs order types and fulfillment SLAs, and role-based access controls were applied to separate warehouse and customer service responsibilities.
Operationally the ShipWise Web App ran alongside Birddogs existing ecommerce and support toolset, which included Shopify, Gorgias, Desktopshipper, and Loop Return as the company’s customer service and order management ecosystem. The implementation scope emphasized fulfillment center and customer service operational coverage within Birddogs US ecommerce operations, with the ShipWise Web App serving as the single point for shipping orchestration and shipment visibility.
Governance around shipping workflows and exception handling was formalized through automated rules, documented carrier policies, and defined handoffs between fulfillment staff and customer service teams. Customer service staff continued to use their support tools to resolve inquiries, while shipping governance centralized decisioning in the ShipWise Web App to reduce manual label processing and standardize carrier selection.
