BigBlueButton Legacy BigBlueButton Audio Video and Web Conferencing Collaboration RIADVICE Tunisia 2024 2024
In 2024 Biruni University Turkey implemented BigBlueButton to support its Moodle-based virtual classrooms, addressing higher education teaching and learning needs for more than 12,000 students. BigBlueButton was deployed as the universitys Audio Video and Web Conferencing platform to centralize synchronous teaching, session recording, and classroom collaboration across campus instruction. The deployment included RIADVICE Tunisia provisioning ZcaleRight load balancer alongside BigBlueButton to scale conference capacity and manage load distribution across BigBlueButton servers. Functional capabilities emphasized in the implementation were virtual classroom hosting, session recording workflow stabilization, and centralized administration of conference instances, with ZcaleRight used to reduce single point contention and smooth recording ingest and retrieval processes. Integration work focused on connecting BigBlueButton to the existing Moodle environment to present virtual classrooms within course shells and to streamline instructor access and scheduling. Governance changes included consolidated administration of conferencing resources through the load balancer and operational handover to university IT for ongoing management. The deployment delivered the cited outcomes of enhanced resilience, simplified administration, and more reliable virtual classroom performance.
