In 2023, BKN301 Group went live with Finastra Fusion Essence as its Core Banking platform to provision a Banking as a Service solution targeting San Marino with expansion plans for the MENA region. The go-live for Finastra Fusion Essence established the foundational digital banking infrastructure required to offer corporate payment services and on-demand account and card issuance.
Finastra Fusion Essence was configured to manage payments accounts and corporate bookkeeping data, and to support international payment rails including SEPA and SWIFT transfers. The implementation included customer onboarding flows that enable rapid account opening and card issuance, aligning product configuration with the fintech’s BaaS product roadmap and corporate client use cases.
The solution was deployed on Microsoft Azure cloud and integrated with Salt Edge’s Open Banking Compliance for regulated API coverage, while Corvallis and Tinexta Group managed the project and last mile payments integration to meet local requirements. Integrations explicitly implemented include Salt Edge for open banking compliance and payment rail connectivity for cross-border transfers, enabling digital payment wallets and international payments processing.
Corvallis led the implementation and fast rollout activities, handling local compliance adaptation and production cutover tasks, while operational governance was structured to support incremental service delivery and rapid time to market. The deployment impacted payments, corporate banking operations, and customer onboarding functions, positioning BKN301 Group to operationalize a Banking as a Service payments offering for corporates across targeted markets.
Going live with Finastra Fusion Essence enabled BKN301 Group to bring new digital payments capabilities to San Marino and to accelerate its longer-term strategy to deliver a BaaS payments solution into the MENA region. The implementation explicitly facilitated seamless cross-border payments and digital payment wallets for corporate customers, and established the technical and integration foundation to expand services in regulated markets.
