| Trimble | Legacy | Trimble Accubid Classic | Construction Estimating | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017 Black & McDonald Group implemented Trimble Accubid Classic for Construction Estimating to centralize bid preparation for its industrial and commercial project portfolio. The deployment targeted core estimating, procurement, project controls, warehouse and field operations and was positioned to support estimating teams working with project managers on bid documents and schedules.
The implementation configured Trimble Accubid Classic to support material takeoff and pricing library workflows, change order tracking, RFQ and RFI processing, and job cost visibility tied to purchase orders, credits, packing slips and change orders. Estimates were structured to align with the companys contract and FMO subcontract management processes and to incorporate national supplier pricing and supplier relationships used during bid build.
Operational integrations leveraged Microsoft Office and Excel for spreadsheet exports and bid packet production, and interfaced with Aconex for document control and project handoff, reflecting the teams existing toolset proficiency. The solution fed downstream workflows for tool inventory, divisions fleet vehicle tracking and warehouse overhead management, enabling estimating outputs to be reconciled against operational asset and procurement records.
Governance around estimating was formalized to coordinate estimating, project management, procurement and field safety functions, standardizing RFQ, PO and CO workflows and clarifying responsibilities for bid review and subcontractor pricing. Trimble Accubid Classic was used as the authoritative estimating system, with estimating staff working closely with PMs and operations to keep bids and job financials aligned with on site safety audits and project schedules.
