In 2021 Bluewater Health implemented Honeywell Forge Asset Performance Management, deploying a cloud-based AI platform classified under Asset Performance Management to centralize condition monitoring across its Petrolia and Sarnia, Ontario hospital campuses. The implementation targeted the facility and maintenance environment of a multi-vintage estate that includes a 317,000 square foot addition, operating rooms, a surgical center, and consolidated maternal and pediatric services, aligning asset monitoring with clinical environment requirements.
The deployment architecture ingests real-time building telemetry and operational signals, integrating directly with the site EBI Building Automation System and aggregating data from more than 1,000 sources across the portfolio. Honeywell technicians worked with the Bluewater Health team to define critical start areas and encode rules for anomaly detection, enabling the platform to surface readings outside acceptable ranges and prioritize corrective actions.
Functionally the Honeywell Forge Asset Performance Management implementation delivered predictive maintenance and anomaly detection capabilities, live dashboards for trends and vulnerabilities, and predictive comfort-level analytics for temperature sensitive clinical zones. The system enabled daily monitoring of utility consumption including hydro and gas, automated alerting on out-of-range conditions, and a rules-driven feedback loop that reduced mean time to identify root triggers.
Governance and operational change were implemented alongside the technology, shifting maintenance workflows from reactive break-fix to planned and predictive maintenance, and providing the support services manager with consolidated operational visibility. Reported outcomes from the program include cost savings through condition-based servicing such as extended air filter life, measurable improvements in staff job satisfaction as technicians focus on planned work, and enhanced patient comfort through more consistent environmental control.
