In 2018, BMO Nesbitt Burns implemented FactSet Multi-Asset Class Analytics to centralize cross-asset analytics for its private wealth and capital markets trading desks in Toronto, Canada. The deployment positioned FactSet Multi-Asset Class Analytics as the principal Analytics and BI platform to support equity trading coverage, client reporting, and intraday monitoring workflows used by Sales Trader, Associate Trading Products, and the Cash Equity Desk.
FactSet Multi-Asset Class Analytics was configured to deliver portfolio analytics, performance attribution, multi-asset risk analysis, scenario and stress analytics, and interactive reporting and dashboards consistent with Analytics and BI capabilities. Configuration emphasized role-based dashboards and automated reporting to surface trade ideas, screen fundamental and technical signals, and track stock performance and earnings impacts for client portfolios.
Operational use ran in conjunction with market intelligence tools such as Bloomberg and StreetAccount, with the platform supporting coordination between BMO Capital Markets trading desks, Institutional Sales, and the Equity Research team. The implementation scope covered client-facing equity trading workflows, overnight monitoring of research coverage, and consolidation of analytics used to generate actionable trade ideas for hedge funds and asset managers.
Governance was structured to align analytics ownership across trading, sales, and research, standardize reporting templates, and embed overnight surveillance procedures into routine equity desk operations. The rollout emphasized centralized analytics consumption by front office and institutional sales teams, with configuration set to support high-touch equity flow, earnings season monitoring, corporate action analysis, and index rebalancing periods.
