In 2016, Boston.com implemented Limelight EPM to centralize its finance FP&A processes. Limelight EPM was deployed as an EPM solution to support budgeting, consolidated reporting, foreign exchange translation, report book production, and complex calculation models for the finance organization.
The implementation configured Limelight EPM modules for planning and reporting, including report book generation and multi-currency translation engines, and emphasized model-driven calculations to standardize forecast and budget workflows. The deployment focus was on improving user adoption and reducing reliance on IT by shifting routine planning and report generation tasks into the application, while preserving finance control over assumptions and calculation logic.
The rollout was learned about in summer 2016 and targeted the North American finance team for planning and reporting acceleration. Governance and process work centered on finance-led ownership of planning cycles and report publication, with configuration and automation used to shorten planning loops and make FP&A users more self-sufficient.
