The deployment included cash management and corporate and JV accounting journal workflows to support monthly cash calls, petroleum cost recovery reporting, and withholding tax tracking. Configuration also emphasized producing audit packs for external auditors, in country audits, and stock audits.
The solution was embedded into group finance workflows and used operationally by the finance team and in country accountants to monitor spend versus POs, provide weekly updates on value of work to go reporting, and verify monthly billing statements and cash calls from JV partners. Operational coverage explicitly spanned corporate finance, Gabon office accounting, and joint venture accounting, aligning financial controls with PSC contract obligations and petroleum cost recovery processes.
Governance and process workstreams were integrated into the Infor SunSystems rollout, with month end commentary, budget preparation and budget revisions, and role based checks built into accounting procedures. In 2015, Bowleven Plc implemented IHS Markit Kingdom within its Geology and Seismic Data Processing toolset to support seismic interpretation and reservoir modelling activities. IHS Markit Kingdom was applied by both exploration and development teams to deliver 2D and 3D seismic interpretation across the Etinde permit offshore Cameroon and the Bomono permit onshore Cameroon, and to support New Venture Screening for African assets including the Kyela and Rukwa blocks in Tanzania.
The implementation emphasized seismic interpretation and reservoir modelling workflows, with direct support for producing well proposals that included preferred surface locations and sub-surface targets. Workstreams included preparation of company and TCM presentations and use of IHS Markit Kingdom in concert with industry applications, reflecting cross-tool geological interpretation and mapping practices. Staff completed formal training in the IHS Markit Kingdom Seismic Interpretation course to standardize interpretation methods.
Operationally, the project created and administered an interactive ArcGIS New Ventures database to centralize spatial screening and prospect tie-ins, while interpretation and modelling workflows were run alongside Petrel, Petrosys, PetroView, Senergy ODM, @Risk and ArcGIS as supporting software. Governance focused on database administration and procedural alignment between exploration and development teams, enabling consistent deliverables for internal review and external presentations.
