Infor Legacy Infor SunSystems ERP Financial ERP n/a 2008 2009
In 2008, Bowleven Plc implemented Infor SunSystems as its ERP Financial application. The deployment focused on supporting group finance and the Gabon office, with responsibilities that included oversight of Gabon G&A and Capex budgets and coordination with in country accountants. The implementation ran alongside finance activities such as presenting to Gabonese government stakeholders in Gabon and Paris and acting as finance lead on a data room for a corporate disposal. Infor SunSystems was configured to support core general ledger processing, project and cost accounting for AFEs, procurement controls for POs, and budgeting and variance analysis. The deployment included cash management and corporate and JV accounting journal workflows to support monthly cash calls, petroleum cost recovery reporting, and withholding tax tracking. Configuration also emphasized producing audit packs for external auditors, in country audits, and stock audits. The solution was embedded into group finance workflows and used operationally by the finance team and in country accountants to monitor spend versus POs, provide weekly updates on value of work to go reporting, and verify monthly billing statements and cash calls from JV partners. Operational coverage explicitly spanned corporate finance, Gabon office accounting, and joint venture accounting, aligning financial controls with PSC contract obligations and petroleum cost recovery processes. Governance and process workstreams were integrated into the Infor SunSystems rollout, with month end commentary, budget preparation and budget revisions, and role based checks built into accounting procedures. A member of the Infor SunSystems accounting package implementation team supported ongoing reporting needs, managed relationships with JV partners, and maintained linkage between the system and Group IT budget planning.
