In 2010, Brainshark implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP to centralize ERP Financial operations for its corporate finance team. The implementation placed Oracle NetSuite ERP at the center of recording and maintaining all financial transactions, establishing a single system of record for general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable activity. Operational responsibilities included monitoring and maintaining authorization records and serving as the primary liaison between management, staff, suppliers, and customers. The deployment supported transactional finance functions as part of the company's growth and required role-level adaptation in day-to-day finance operations.
Configuration and functional coverage emphasized accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, with explicit integrations to PayPal and VeriSign to handle payment processing and transaction authorizations. Implementation practices included review and approval workflows for all Purchase Orders, authorization controls, and centralized maintenance of vendor and customer records within NetSuite. The operational scope spanned procurement billing and cash collection workflows, consolidating purchase order review, supplier communications, and receivables reconciliation in the ERP Financial application. Governance centered on finance team ownership of authorizations and transaction records, and the finance role evolved as the company scaled, adapting processes and system use to support expanding transactional volume.
