In 2005 Brend Hotels appointed Zonal to install Zonal Aztec POS, adopting a Point Of Sale solution to address unreliable prior systems that were not integrated with the Property Management System and that made it difficult to post charges to guest rooms. The inability to post room charges to guest folios contributed to sustained revenue loss and was a decisive factor in selecting Zonal.
Zonal Aztec POS was deployed as a combined front of house and back of house EPoS platform and integrated with Brend Hotels' existing PMS for room postings, enabling transactions at outlets to post directly to guest accounts. The rollout covers five locations including a beach-side cafe at the Saunton Sands Hotel in Devon, consolidating Point Of Sale transaction processing and F&B order handling into a single platform. Configuration work emphasized EPoS terminals, back of house processing, and the room-charge posting workflow consistent with Point Of Sale functional requirements.
Zonal provided hands-on installation and on-site support throughout the rollout, handling system configuration and operational handover at each site. The system connection to the hotel PMS for room charges improved the customer experience by streamlining outlet postings to guest folios and established centralized posting controls and operational governance across the five locations.
