TradeShift Legacy Tradeshift Babelway Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) PaaS n/a 2023 2024
In 2023 Brouwerij Martens implemented Tradeshift Babelway as its Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) platform to centralise B2B integration and streamline supply chain flows. The deployment targeted supply chain and order to cash processes, supporting the brewery in Belgium and its international customers while consolidating message formats and onboarding procedures. The implementation of Tradeshift Babelway emphasised centralised format mapping and message translation, with configurable EDI orchestration and monitoring to replace an in house BizTalk EDI setup. Typical capabilities applied included partner onboarding automation, document transformation, and visibility into transaction status to reduce manual intervention and accelerate partner enablement. Operational coverage extended across procurement, order management, logistics and accounts receivable, integrating trading partner connections for suppliers and customers rather than point to point mappings. The rollout focused on standardising templates and message schemas to simplify onboarding of international customers and suppliers and to provide a single control plane for electronic documents. Governance changes included formalised onboarding workflows and standard operating procedures for EDI exceptions and maintenance, centralising format governance and partner configuration. Reported outcomes from the project included reduced manual work, improved transaction reliability and shortened supplier and customer onboarding times, aligned with the vendor case study timing.
