| SardineAI Corp | Legacy | SardineAI Platform | AML, Fraud and Compliance | TRM | n/a | 2025 | 2025 | In 2025, Bunq implemented the SardineAI Platform to strengthen AML, Fraud and Compliance across its global neobank operations that serve over 20 million customers. The implementation targeted rapid detection and response to evolving scam patterns after Bunq identified slow rule change cycles and limited automation in their fraud tooling. Bunq configured the SardineAI Platform with a set of explicit capabilities, including behavioral analytics, phone risk scoring, a no-code rule builder, backtesting, machine learning scoring, and case management. These functional modules were applied to both fraud prevention and AML workflows, giving the fraud analysis team end to end tools to identify signals, test hypotheses, and deploy control logic without writing code. Engineering completed integration of the SardineAI Platform relatively quickly, enabling the platform to operate across the customer lifecycle from onboarding through transaction monitoring. Operational coverage centers on Bunq’s fraud prevention and product teams, where analysts use SardineAI Platform dashboards to trace suspicious activity across accounts and devices and to act in near real time. Governance shifted from engineering driven rule changes to analyst owned workflows, with Bunq teams now able to create, backtest, and deploy rules in minutes rather than weeks. Outcomes reported by Bunq include an 82 percent reduction in fraud, 95 percent fewer fraud victims, and four times fewer false positives, and the team documented an incident where a fraud ring was detected and stopped in under 20 minutes. Bunq is continuing to iterate with SardineAI Platform and is evaluating AI based transaction filtering using their own data to further refine detection. |

| GitBook | Legacy | GitBook | API Management | PaaS | n/a | 2022 | 2022 | In 2022, Bunq implemented GitBook for API Management to publish its public API documentation for banking and payments integrations. The GitBook deployment in the Netherlands provides structured API references and tutorials that support third party developer onboarding and integration, improving developer self service and reducing support overhead. GitBook serves as the canonical documentation layer for Bunq APIs, consolidating reference material and how to guides used by integrators and partner developers. GitBook is configured to deliver modular API reference content and step by step tutorials, enabling consistent authoring and publishing workflows across API topics. Operational coverage focuses on developer relations, platform engineering, and customer support functions in the Netherlands, centralizing technical documentation to standardize onboarding and integration patterns. Governance is implemented around content ownership and publishing controls to maintain accuracy of API references and tutorials, sustaining developer self service and lowering support demand. | |
