In 2022, Byhours implemented Embrace Mobile RUM within the Customer Analytics category to instrument its mobile booking experience for the hotel microstay marketplace in Spain. The engagement focused on improving the mobile booking flow to reduce friction in session time and conversion across the company mobile applications.
Deployment centered on Embrace Mobile RUM modules including session level monitoring, session replay capabilities, and performance dashboards with alerting and tracing, providing visibility into individual booking sessions and aggregated performance metrics. SDK instrumentation was applied to the mobile application and dashboards were configured to track booking latency, frontend errors, and session behavior to inform engineering and product decisions.
Operational scope covered product, mobile engineering, and growth teams in Spain, with monitoring concentrated on the mobile checkout and booking flow within the marketplace. The implementation changed incident triage and product iteration workflows by surfacing session level traces and performance alerts directly to engineering and product owners for faster remediation and prioritization.
Rollout followed an instrumentation first approach, provisioning dashboards and alerts to operational teams and embedding performance monitoring into sprint level work. Byhours reduced booking time by 75% and increased overall bookings by approximately 3%, outcomes attributed to Embrace Mobile RUM session level monitoring and the performance dashboards.
