In 2016, California Speech Therapy implemented Kareo Clinical as its Electronic Health Record to support clinical documentation and scheduling across its outpatient speech-language pathology practice. The implementation is part of a broader deployment that also uses Kareo Billing and PatientPop functionality within Tebra’s integrated platform, enabling unified clinical and financial operations across multiple sites.
Kareo Clinical was configured to support core Electronic Health Record workflows including patient charting, appointment scheduling, and clinical notes, with Kareo Billing handling claims and revenue cycle tasks. Practice growth and patient acquisition capabilities were deployed through PatientPop driven website optimization and Google Ads strategy, and automation was implemented for appointment reminders and two-way text communication to reduce no-shows.
Integrations are centered on the combined Tebra platform, which unifies Kareo Clinical, Kareo Billing, and PatientPop capabilities so clinical records, billing transactions, and patient engagement channels flow across systems. Operational scope covers multiple Northern California locations, the clinical staff of more than 20 providers, front-desk and billing teams, and practice marketing functions to coordinate online reputation and scheduling.
Governance and rollout emphasized streamlined provider onboarding and automated patient engagement workflows, simplifying new location openings and staff additions. Using Tebra’s unified platform, the practice opened three locations with a fourth planned, achieved an average of three new online reviews per week, gained over 80 new reviews with an average 4.8 rating, added approximately 10 new patient appointments per month through growth tools, reduced no-show rates to almost zero via text reminders, and reported quadrupled revenue and appointments following the 2016 implementation.
