In 2017 Cancer Council NSW deployed Ascender Preceda as its Core HR application to address a set of organization wide objectives identified during engagement with Ascender, including rolling out a new performance management system across the whole organisation, unifying departments by aligning each to the same overall plan, raising greater funds in support of the organisation mission, increasing organisational efficiencies, and centralising compliance and quality reporting. Ascender Preceda was positioned as the Core HR backbone to support those objectives and to provide consistent HR and performance workflows across the nonprofit. The implementation focused on Core HR capabilities coupled with a new performance management configuration, including employee records and organisational structure modeling, structured performance cycles and goal alignment, and built in compliance and quality reporting capabilities. The deployment centralized functional workflows for performance reviews and plan alignment, enabling consistent use of the Ascender Preceda performance module across departments while preserving standard Core HR processes for workforce data and role definitions. Rollout and operational coverage targeted the entire organisation, with the implementation scope spanning HR administration, compliance and quality teams, fundraising operations and program management functions. Governance was oriented through central HR oversight, creating standardized performance frameworks and unified departmental planning to support centralized compliance reporting and cross functional alignment. Ascender Preceda served as the single system of record for the stated objectives and to anchor unified reporting and performance processes across Cancer Council NSW.
