In 2007, Capital Services Gb deployed Magix Vegas Pro, formerly Sony Vegas, as a Video Editing application to support media production and broadcast workflows. The implementation was used to capture, edit and render Oscar-week coverage for GCap Media’s 53 UK radio station websites, including Capital FM, enabling rapid field editing on laptops and multi-format output for web publishing.
Workflows centered on capture, non-linear timeline editing, rendering and multi-format encoding, leveraging core VEGAS Pro video editing and rendering features. Magix Vegas Pro was applied to day to day editorial tasks and short-form production, supporting ingest, timeline assembly, visual trim and output packaging consistent with Video Editing functional terminology.
Operational scope covered media production and broadcast teams across the United Kingdom and the delivery chain to 53 station websites, producing daily regionalised video diaries for each station. Editorial workflow changes emphasized laptop-based field editing and standardized output workflows to accelerate turnaround from field capture to web publishing, with the system integrated into web publishing pipelines for platform-ready file delivery.
