| Aptean | Legacy | Aptean Intuitive ERP | Manufacturing ERP | ERP Services and Operations | Synoptix | 2010 | 2010 |
In 2010, Cardinal Scale implemented Aptean Intuitive ERP to centralize core manufacturing and financial processes, and engaged Synoptix to extend reporting and analytics across their Manufacturing ERP environment. The deployment supported approximately 85 to 90 active ERP users and roughly 40 shop floor terminals for labor reporting, positioning reporting and shop floor data capture as primary operational touchpoints.
Synoptix was configured to deliver flexible booking and financial reports inside the Aptean Intuitive ERP menu system, enabling seamless execution of reports in the background. Functional capabilities implemented included dynamic booking reports with filters by customer, customer type, product family, and item number, month to month, month to date, and prior year to date comparisons, plus drill into balances for transaction level detail. The IT function expanded the report library to about 350 custom reports, moving from static 150 page exports to targeted, filter driven outputs.
The architecture included a corporate database hosted at headquarters in Webb City and separate databases for branches in Miami and Atlanta and warehouses in Canada and England, with Synoptix consolidation functionality allowing selection of a single database or multiple databases when running reports. Operational coverage extended to Regional Managers who used the booking reports to analyze customer purchasing trends and to the Business Office which benefited from direct drill through instead of manual data requests.
Governance and process change centered on embedding Synoptix reports into the ERP menu to ensure user transparency and lower support overhead, while the IT Director owned report development and scaling. Outcomes stated by the customer included dramatic reductions in manual reporting effort and consolidated reporting across distributed databases, shortening reporting cycles from weeks to minutes and saving thousands of dollars per month, and enabling users to retrieve transactional detail on demand.
