In 2015 Carsem implemented Ramco HCM for Core HR to formalize human resources administration across its Malaysian operations. The deployment focused on the HR organization and explicitly supported activities documented for the S-Site Transportation and Security section, the Foreign Labor section, and the Recruitment section.
Ramco HCM was configured to manage employee master data and to operationalize foreign worker permit lifecycle management, including capture of new permit dates, scan and upload of e-permit documents, and maintenance of passport and permit identifiers. The application supported document management and scheduling workflows for Fomema medical screening and embassy appointments, recruitment intake and interview coordination, and processing workflows for transportation claims submitted to Finance.
Operational coverage of the Ramco HCM implementation included routine clerical and administrative workflows such as data entry, meeting and travel scheduling, airport clearance coordination with Immigration officers, and liaison with external contractors for bus routing and shuttle services. Monthly claims for bus contractors and related documentation were routed through HR workflows to Finance for payment, and HR used the system to maintain records for drivers and vehicle compliance documents.
Governance was implemented through permit renewal schedules, check out memo and home leave documentation workflows, and structured recruitment paperwork processes, with HR administrative staff assigned to data maintenance and approvals. The Ramco HCM configuration established centralized recordkeeping and repeatable workflow templates used by HR to manage foreign labor, transportation administration, and recruitment operations within Core HR.
