| Ascend Software | Legacy | Ascend SmartTouch Accounts Payable | AP Automation | ERP | n/a | 2015 | 2015 |
In 2015 Catalina deployed Ascend SmartTouch Accounts Payable. The Ascend SmartTouch Accounts Payable application is an AP Automation solution implemented to centralize invoice intake and approval for Catalina, a digital media company that processes between 900 and 1,000 invoices per month and maintains operations in the United States, France, Italy, the United Kingdom and Japan.
The implementation used Ascend SmartTouch Accounts Payable modules for capture and processing, including optical character recognition scanning, PO matching, line pairing, invoice locking for coding and approval, automatic line coding, and touch-free mail extraction for emailed invoices. Configuration focused on end to end workflow automation within Accounts Payable and Shared Services, with Ascend handling scanning to PO matching and enforcing coding and approval gates to reduce manual intervention.
Ascend was integrated with Catalina’s ERP stack, initially operating with Lawson ERP and later extended to interoperate with Workday as Catalina changed ERP systems, allowing Ascend to retain matching and line pairing logic outside the ERP. Keeping line pairing and matching inside Ascend rather than shifting it into the ERP reduced processing effort for those activities, with Catalina reporting about a one third reduction in time for line pairing when executed in Ascend.
Governance and rollout were driven by Shared Services leadership and senior management support, replacing spreadsheet based manual entry and physical invoice attachments with automated workflows and mail extraction. Catalina framed the deployment as a move toward touch free processing, noting 'Thanks to Ascend, we'll be as touch-free as possible', and standardized AP processing across regions while maintaining a lean staffing model.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2014 | 2018 |
In 2014 Catalina implemented Workday HCM and Workday Payroll, going live in July 2014. The Workday HCM deployment targeted Core HR capabilities to centralize payroll and HR recordkeeping for the company, with explicit focus on payroll accuracy and timekeeping consistency.
The implementation scope included configuration and testing of earnings and deductions, time tracking, and time off plans, and Workday HCM was configured to support standard payroll workflows and payroll data validation. The team led detailed configuration cycles and iterative testing to align earning codes, deduction mappings, and absence plans with company compensation and benefits policies.
Integrations were explicitly implemented with Ceridian for garnishment and tax processing, and the project integrated those feeds into payroll transaction processing to ensure statutory withholdings were applied. Operational ownership was concentrated in HR and payroll functions, and the implementation addressed end to end payroll input through payroll run preparation within the Core HR environment.
Governance and rollout centered on joint HR validation activities, with HR subject matter experts partnering to validate compensation and benefit plan information for employees to ensure accurate payroll processing. The program concluded with a July 2014 go live for Workday HCM, delivering a consolidated Core HR platform for payroll and absence management.

In 2010 Catalina deployed Quadient Neopost IS-6000 as its primary Mailing System. The Quadient Neopost IS-6000 at Catalina processed all incoming and outgoing mail and parcels and guaranteed accurate delivery across the company corporate headquarters mailroom and the receiving and shipping department.
Implementation focused on core mailing workflows, including postage metering, parcel handling and tracking, and mail accounting consistent with a Mailing System deployment. Staff maintained and provided troubleshooting for printers, copiers, scanners and fax machines throughout Catalina headquarters, and the Quadient Neopost IS-6000 was operated daily as the central device for postage and parcel processing.
Operational workflows were run in close conjunction with office productivity and shipping systems, staff regularly used Microsoft Word and Excel for document preparation and mail merge, UPS Worldship for shipping label generation and parcel manifesting, SharePoint for operational documentation, and MS Outlook for delivery notifications, while Workday was part of daily administrative routines. The narrative records that the team maintained in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, UPS Worldship, SharePoint, Workday, MS Outlook and the NeoPost Mailing System as part of normal operations.
Governance centered on a centralized mailroom and receiving and shipping department responsibility model, with defined troubleshooting and device maintenance coverage across facilities. Explicit outcomes documented include guaranteed accurate delivery of mail and parcels and ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting for printing and scanning hardware, supporting day to day mailroom and shipping operations.
