Open Source Italia Legacy OS1 ERP ERP Financial ERP Financial Management Scao Informatica 2020 2020
In 2020, Catenificio Rigamonti implemented OS1 ERP in the ERP Financial category with Scao Informatica leading the deployment and Open Source Italia as the vendor of the OS1 Enterprise platform. The program consolidated purchasing, sales, production, warehouse, administration, accounting and management control into a single OS1 Enterprise database to enable real time data flows across the Brescia manufacturing site. The engagement targeted full digitalization of business processes and production management for a 29 person specialized welded chain manufacturer. The OS1 ERP implementation configured core modules for Purchasing and Accounting Management, Sales Treasury and Budget Management control, Warehouse Management and Control, and Management control for industrial costing. Technical data sheets, bills of materials and production cycles were formalized in OS1 ERP, with standard setup times and cost elements added to support accurate calculation of the industrial cost per finished and semi finished item. Serial number tracking, price lists for semi finished products, rotating inventories and stock by location were implemented to tighten inventory accuracy and speed month end closings. Scao Informatica delivered a customized production data collection layer and MES connectivity that feeds process progress, produced quantities and processing times back into OS1 Enterprise. Machine integration included automatic capture of weighing data from company scales into dedicated operator stations to eliminate manual entry errors, and MES batch detection was tailored to the customer workflow so that warehouse movements are triggered automatically for semi finished and finished goods. Business Intelligence was integrated via Microsoft Power BI to provide production and management dashboards for operator efficiency, work center efficiency, Fermi analysis and production event detail. Project governance combined Scao consultants and client staff to redefine rules and methodologies and consolidate operational data into a single management ecosystem. Process changes included extending the warehouse adjustment procedure to transfer scrap to a dedicated Scrap warehouse and introducing periodic rotating inventories plus shipping list driven picking by warehouse staff. Reported outcomes explicit to the engagement include a 15 percent increase in sales and a 50 percent reduction in inventory loading times, along with greater visibility and control across purchasing, sales, production, warehouse, industrial costs and traceability of activities.
