Oracle Legacy Oracle Inventory Management Inventory Management SCM n/a 2008 2009
In 2008 Century Paper & Board Mills engaged Oracle Certified Partner A.F. Ferguson & Co to deploy Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.0.4, implementing Oracle Inventory Management as a core Inventory Management capability within the broader ERP rollout. The implementation included Oracle Inventory Management alongside Oracle Financials, Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning, Oracle Purchasing, Oracle Order Management, Oracle Process Manufacturing, Oracle Discrete Manufacturing, Oracle Advanced Pricing, and Oracle Enterprise Asset Management to address manufacturing and supply chain control needs. The Oracle Inventory Management deployment covered standard Inventory Management functional capabilities, including item master and organization structures, on hand and transactional control, cycle counting and adjustments, lot and serial tracking workflows, and inventory interfaces to procurement and order fulfillment processes. Configuration work aligned inventory organizations with manufacturing work centers and production flows defined in Oracle Process Manufacturing and Oracle Discrete Manufacturing, enabling transactional handoffs between production, purchasing and order management modules. Database and infrastructure architecture was provisioned by Oracle Platinum Partner Techaccess, which deployed Oracle Database 11g with Real Application Clusters to support the E Business Suite tier. The overall technical architecture combined Oracle E Business Suite Release 12.0.4 application servers with Oracle Database 11g RAC for high availability and scalability, with integrations configured between Oracle Inventory Management and the Financials, Purchasing, Order Management and Asset Management modules for transactional and costing reconciliation. Governance and rollout were partner led, with A.F. Ferguson & Co responsible for application configuration, master data alignment and process orchestration across supply chain, production, procurement, maintenance and finance functions. Implementation activities emphasized standardizing inventory processes, establishing master data governance for items and warehouses, and aligning inventory transaction flows with manufacturing and purchasing workflows to enforce consistent operational controls.
