Cegid Legacy Cegid Qualiac ERP ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2011 2011
In 2011, CERN implemented Cegid Qualiac ERP to centralize finance and procurement recordkeeping and operational workflows. The deployment is categorized as ERP Financial and the implementation specifically covered Qualiac Finance and Qualiac Purchasing modules within CERNs Finance and Procurement section. The Cegid Qualiac ERP implementation centered on core finance and purchasing capabilities consistent with the ERP Financial category, including general ledger and period close orchestration, accounts payable invoice processing, purchase requisition to purchase order workflows, supplier invoice matching and approval routing, and budget control for purchasing commitments. Configuration work described in source materials assigns accountability for Qualiac Finance and Qualiac Purchasing to a named business analyst and solution provider working inside the Finance and Procurement section, indicating hands-on ownership of requirements, configuration, testing and user acceptance activities. Operational coverage is limited to CERNs Finance and Procurement section with the business analyst and solution provider responsible for solution stewardship across finance and purchasing business functions. Governance emphasis in the role description points to ongoing solution support, functional configuration changes, and alignment of procurement and finance workflow handoffs rather than platform-level integrations or a cross-organization ERP rollout.

Infor Legacy Infor CloudSuite EAM Asset Performance Asset Performance Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2013 2014
In 2013 CERN implemented Infor CloudSuite EAM Asset Performance to manage Asset Performance Management for maintenance of more than one million assets supporting the Large Hadron Collider. The deployment used the out of the box Infor CloudSuite EAM Asset Performance application with no modifications, prioritizing standard configuration and usability over customization. Module and configuration scope included mobile field enablement for connected and disconnected environments, checklist functionality available on mobile devices, full work management with daily scheduling to allocate resources and track work completion, reliability centered maintenance planning with automated reliability calculations, and energy optimization tools for benchmarking energy consumption and calculating CO2 emissions. The implementation intentionally emphasized checklist, scheduling, reliability analysis, and energy monitoring capabilities aligned to Asset Performance Management workflows. Operational coverage extended across CERN maintenance teams and external maintenance contractors, supported by a contractor portal that permits secure contractor data input and record updates without exposing sensitive information. The solution gave field workers access to GIS, documents, videos, diagrams, images and other asset intelligence to reduce return trips to the office and ensure asset records are updated in real time. Governance and process restructuring focused on shifting data capture to the point of work, enabling managers and field service workers to assign, perform and record activities anytime and from any device. CERN reports reduced time to find and analyze data and that outside maintenance contractors can accomplish the same volume of work with fewer people, outcomes delivered while operating the unmodified Infor CloudSuite EAM Asset Performance application.

Kubeflow Legacy Kubeflow MLOps Platforms AI Development n/a 2020 2021
In 2020 Cern implemented Kubeflow as its MLOps Platforms backbone, provisioning an internal service named ml.cern.ch to manage the full machine learning lifecycle for physics and scientific research workloads. The deployment centralizes experimentation and pipeline orchestration to serve the institute's user community across Europe. The Kubeflow implementation emphasizes capabilities for large scale distributed training, automated hyperparameter tuning, and model serving, delivering an end to end pipeline orchestration layer and experiment management for researcher workflows. Configuration includes GPU resource scheduling and distributed compute management to support research scale training jobs and multi node training frameworks. Operated as an internal, centrally managed platform, ml.cern.ch runs GPU backed experiments and orchestrates model deployments for physics research. The implementation accelerates research workflows and scales GPU backed experiments across the European user community, while governance is organized through the internal platform service model and research computing operations.
