In 2024, Ceska Televize deployed Peplink MBX 5G in a Routers and Network Switches implementation across its mobile broadcast fleet. The program equipped ten Outside Broadcast vehicles with Peplink HD4 MBX 5G routers to bond multiple 5G links for live video contribution and to reduce reliance on DSNG satellite uplinks, lowering operational costs.
Smart Informatics and Frontier EU implemented Peplink SpeedFusion link bonding and centralized InControl management, creating an architecture that aggregates multi-carrier 5G connectivity, maintains session continuity, and centralizes device provisioning and monitoring. SpeedFusion was configured on each HD4 MBX 5G unit to aggregate SIMs and provide seamless failover between radio links, while InControl provided fleet-wide visibility and configuration orchestration.
The operational scope covered distributed production workflows between the ten OB vehicles and Ceska Televize master control rooms, impacting broadcast operations and engineering functions. Governance combined centralized network management with vehicle level configuration controls during rollout, and the implementation aimed to improve broadcast reliability and lower ongoing satellite uplink costs.
