In 2019, CFD Research implemented Unanet Cloud ERP as its ERP Financial platform and replaced Deltek CostPoint in its core accounting footprint. The deployment focused on consolidating project accounting and billing workflows to support federal contract and task order funding at the Contract, Task Order and Project level.
Unanet Cloud ERP was configured to manage project cost control, general ledger accounting, invoicing and time and expense capture, supporting standard ERP Financial capabilities such as project billing, cost tracking, and financial reporting for Program Managers and principal investigators. The implementation surface included timesheet validation and approval, invoice preparation and coordinated approval routing, and project-level workload analysis consistent with professional services project accounting.
The Unanet Cloud ERP implementation integrated operationally with payroll administered through ADP and maintained operational handoffs with Human Resources for benefits reconciliation, reflecting a finance HR interface rather than a complete HR system replacement. Governance centered on finance ownership with reporting lines to the CFO and Controller, program management consumers for weekly and monthly reports, and tightened approval workflows for timesheets and invoices to govern chargeability and billing accuracy.
