In 2015, Chapco implemented Software Arts pc/MRP, a Manufacturing ERP, to support day-to-day operations and to help consolidate processes during a business merger. The Software Arts pc/MRP deployment was positioned to centralize operational workflows for a 70-person manufacturing firm, providing a single application to manage order entry, inventory and production activities across the company.
The implementation configured core functional modules consistent with the Manufacturing ERP category, including order entry, shipping and receiving, raw material purchasing, inventory control, production execution, and bookkeeping/accounting workflows. Staff were trained in Bill if material creation and BOM creation via Software Arts pc/MRP, and the system was used to capture customer service and technical support transactions alongside employee management and training records.
Operational coverage included operations, purchasing, production, customer service, finance and engineering stakeholders, with daily use for order processing, purchasing and inventory transactions. Governance around the application included weekly production and KPI meetings driven by pc/MRP outputs, and close collaboration between the owner, COO and engineers to modernize manufacturing techniques and to train new staff on system-driven processes.
