| Hyland | Legacy | OnBase for AP | AP Automation | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014, Charter Communications deployed OnBase for AP as a targeted AP Automation initiative to centralize invoice intake and validation across its accounts payable operations. The implementation paired OnBase for AP with Readsoft optical character recognition and Oracle PeopleSoft to create a structured capture to ERP posting flow, with an explicit objective to process high volume invoices in a timely manner and to ensure discounts could be earned while preventing duplicate payments.
OnBase for AP served as the document management and workflow engine, while Readsoft provided OCR capture and pre-population of invoice fields. Functional capabilities implemented included automated data extraction, OCR pre-populated data verification, automated three way matching of invoices to purchase orders for correct quantity and pricing, GL coding confirmation, duplicate invoice detection, and authorized signature verification, with exception routing for records failing validation.
Integrations were implemented between the capture layer and the enterprise ledger, specifically Readsoft OCR feeding structured invoice data into OnBase for AP workflows and Oracle PeopleSoft for GL validation and posting. The operational scope focused on the Accounts Payable and Finance functions handling high invoice volumes, with processes configured to validate OCR accuracy before committing transactions to Oracle PeopleSoft.
Governance and workflow restructuring emphasized staged validation checkpoints, including automated PO matching, signature authorization checks, and GL coding reviews, with exceptions routed to AP analysts for manual resolution. Outcomes explicitly targeted by the deployment included capturing vendor discount opportunities, eliminating duplicate invoices, confirming logical GL coding, and improving the accuracy of OCR pre-populated invoice data through systematic verification and matching.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle PeopleSoft Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2015 | 2015 |
In 2015, Charter Communications implemented Oracle PeopleSoft Absence Management to centralize leave tracking and case management across its HR organization. The implementation targeted Absence and Leave Management use cases while supporting a geographically dispersed population in Texas including Dallas, El Paso, Austin, Nederland and other areas, covering more than 200 employees and coordinated by a regional HR team of nine peers across the Western United States.
Oracle PeopleSoft Absence Management was configured to manage statutory and non statutory leave workflows, including ADA, FMLA, Workers Compensation and personal leaves, and to maintain linked employee records and return to work case handling. Functional capabilities emphasized absence case intake, eligibility and certification tracking, absence entitlement accounting, and integration with core PeopleSoft HRIS employee records to preserve single source of truth for personnel data.
Operational coverage extended beyond leave administration to intersect with Employee Relations, Compensation, Recruiting, Corrective Actions, Terminations and On Boarding processes, reflecting the HRIS centric role of PeopleSoft in day to day HR operations. Governance was established through designated subject matter experts who provided escalation support for complex and sensitive employee relations investigations, coached less experienced HR staff, and partnered with senior management to resolve policy and process exceptions while maintaining compliance with leave regulations.
