ChenMed selected Microsoft Power BI in 2013 to replace a legacy reporting system and deployed it as the organization’s principal Analytics and BI application. The implementation was integrated into an existing data stack: ETL pipelines run through SSIS and custom scripting (Python, Perl, PHP, SQL), SSRS and QlikView remain in the reporting mix, and R/SQL are used for advanced analytics and data modeling that feed Power BI datasets. Teams use Power BI to build interactive reports and dashboards, support web-based application development, and surface analytic outputs; SSIS-driven ETL and database sources are consolidated into a Power BI semantic layer. The deployment supports end-to-end BI operations—initial ETL processing, report/dashboard creation, web app delivery, and advanced analytics—indicating centralized BI and data engineering responsibilities across ChenMed’s analytics footprint.
