In 2016, China Railway Engineering Design and Consulting Group selected iTWO as part of a Project Portfolio Management initiative. The firm upgraded to the cloud-based RIB 4.0 Construction Project Management platform in 2017 to support multi-project 5D BIM collaboration, schedule management and cost control for large railway projects in China.
RIB 4.0 Construction Project Management was implemented with a focus on BIM-based virtual construction and integrated project lifecycle management, aligning model-driven 5D cost planning with linked scheduling to support construction sequencing and quantity takeoff workflows. Functional emphasis included multi-project coordination, model federation and clash management, and centralized cost and schedule transparency across project teams.
Operational coverage targeted large rail projects in China, concentrating on project delivery, planning and cost control teams across concurrent sites and programs, and leveraging cloud deployment to enable distributed collaboration. The implementation provisioned integrated 5D BIM collaboration across the project portfolio and standardized model and data handling for cross-project visibility.
Governance and process changes established standardized BIM-based workflows and integrated lifecycle processes to align schedule management and cost control across projects, with a phased rollout to enforce data standards and coordination protocols. The program delivered improved schedule adherence and enhanced cost transparency across rail projects.
