In 2013, Chopard initiated an upgrade to Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial platform, executing the R12 upgrade project across mid 2013 to mid 2014. The program was run from the Geneva Area, Switzerland site and focused on centralizing finance and collections functionality for the companys finance organization within the Oracle E-Business Suite environment.
The implementation concentrated on Oracle Financials capabilities and R12 specific functionality, with explicit configuration and rollout of Advanced Collections using the IEX Module. The project included development and setup for payment processing using SEPA and DTA formats, detailed R12 setup documentation captured in a functional cookbook, and cutover planning activities to transition to the R12 finance environment.
Technical execution used Oracle On Demand Cloud Services as the hosting and service model for the R12 instance, and the program ran structured CEMLI testing to validate customizations and extensions. The team completed four formal testing cycles, and testing governance focused on combination of base R12 financials plus custom components identified through CEMLI testing.
Project governance emphasized a single project manager role accountable for the R12 upgrade plan, testing coordination, training coordination, documentation of all R12 setup activities, and cutover preparation. Operational impacts were concentrated on finance functions including collections and payment processing, with training and testing cycles staged to support controlled cutover to Oracle E-Business Suite R12 as the enterprise ERP Financial system.
