In 2012, Christmas by Krebs implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP. The deployment was scoped as an ERP Financial implementation to centralize accounting and cost accounting for the manufacturer’s corporate finance and plant-level operations.
The Oracle NetSuite ERP implementation covered full cycle accounting functions, including accounts receivable and accounts payable, bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, journal entry processing, inventory management, standard costing, and fixed assets management in accordance to GAAP. The project included configuration to manage financial monthly and yearly closings by subsidiary and consolidated reporting, and to support budget and forecasting workflows with budget versus actual analysis by product and location.
Operational integrations and coverage included EDI processing and coordination for all major accounts into the ERP system, and deployment to subsidiaries in Mexico, Hong Kong and Germany. Treasury and working capital controls were instrumented within the system to support monitoring of the working capital loan and required reporting, and finance maintained scheduled communications with external and bank auditors on a quarterly and annual basis.
Governance activities were formalized through created accounting policies and procedures regarding the ERP software NetSuite, and through the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the cost accounting structure for all products. Close governance emphasized standardized month-end close processes, consolidated reporting controls, and cost accounting ownership across finance and manufacturing accounting teams.
Oracle NetSuite ERP served as the core ERP Financial platform to unify GL, COGS and gross profit analysis by manufacturing location and product, and to centralize AR, AP, fixed assets and inventory accounting workflows across the company and its international subsidiaries.
