In 2023, Cinnamon Hotels & Resort implemented Oracle OPERA Cloud PMS to centralize operations across its Sri Lanka and Maldives properties. The initial deployment covered Cinnamon Life Integrated Resort in Colombo, Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives, Cinnamon Velifushi Maldives, and Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives, with a stated plan to introduce the solution across the group’s remaining 12 hotels in Sri Lanka.
The implementation used the Oracle Hospitality OPERA Cloud suite including property management, OPERA Cloud Sales and Event Management, and MICROS Simphony Cloud point of sale, deployed on a cloud based architecture. Oracle OPERA Cloud PMS provides centralized property management functionality, while the sales and event module supports site inspections, inventory checks, and on the go booking modifications. MICROS Simphony Cloud is used for restaurant POS workflows, covering reservations, kitchen and recipe management, and inventory controls.
The deployment leverages hundreds of prebuilt integrations to connect back and front office systems, enabling the central reservation office to view room availability and create reservations across locations. Transactional and payment information is retained in the cloud environment for secure access by operations and finance teams. The integrated suite creates a single vendor stack for consolidating back office functions and for linking day to day operations across properties and restaurants.
Governance and rollout focused on standardizing guest facing and operational workflows from the front desk through dining and leisure, with property level configuration aligned to resort and restaurant use cases. The group emphasized ease of use for resort staff and centralized operational visibility to support decision making. Reported benefits in the announcement include streamlined operations, increased employee efficiency, automated administrative tasks, and enhanced ability to connect facilities and guest services using Oracle OPERA Cloud PMS within the Hotel Property Management category.
