In 2009, City Index implemented Infor SunSystems as its core ERP Financial application to centralize daily accounting and management reporting across its UK and Australia offices. The deployment emphasized financial ledger controls and daily journal workflows within Infor SunSystems, making the application the primary system for posting open trade equity journals, wire fees, intercompany transfers, and routine cash and expense postings.
Operational configuration in Infor SunSystems included automated batch file processing, exchange rate loading, and ledger posting routines. Daily operations required verification and loading of automatically generated batch files separated by two client systems, G2 and GTS, into Infor SunSystems, and routine posting of the unrealised gain or loss on open positions as Open Trade Equity journals.
Integrations were structured around client-based feeds and SQL-driven extracts, with G2 and GTS feeding transaction batches into SunSystems and SQL queries used to extract undetermined and miscellaneous entries for investigation and clearing. City Index maintained day to day accounts using Infor SunSystems alongside Vision, and the configuration supported close collaboration with the management accounting team for daily P&L preparation and management reporting.
Governance and workflow responsibilities were formalized at the transaction level, with roles performing check, load and verification of batch files, posting of daily journals, loading of exchange rates, and approving and releasing payments and expenses in SunSystems. The implementation emphasized procedural controls for journal posting and exception handling, including SQL-based investigation of undetermined items and defined steps to clear those entries into Infor SunSystems.
