In 2014 City of Alamosa, CO implemented Tyler Incode Payroll to bring payroll processing in house, replacing ADP Payroll and centralizing control under municipal finance. The deployment supported bi-weekly payroll processing for over 100 employees and posting of payroll entries to the general ledger.
The implementation used the Payroll capabilities of Tyler Incode Payroll to manage payroll calculation, payroll disbursements, tax withholdings, and reconciliation routines. Configuration work focused on payroll posting templates and disbursement workflows, and the finance analyst established recurring processes for bi-weekly runs and withholding reconciliations.
Integrations included automated posting to the city general ledger and reconciliation handoffs to accounts payable for withholding disbursements, and the deployment leveraged the broader InCode application footprint for utility billing and capital asset management to centralize financial data. Operational scope was centered in the finance department and covered payroll, utility billing reconciliation, grant reporting support, and capital asset accounting within the InCode suite.
Governance moved to an in-house model with the city finance team operating payroll runs and managing reconciliations and reporting, and the rollout consolidated workflows previously handled externally. The transition to Tyler Incode Payroll brought payroll processing in house and delivered stated cost savings to the City of Alamosa.
