In 2011 Cityguard implemented MYOB Exo Payroll to centralize employee pay processing. The deployment standardized payroll operations for more than 100 staff in New Zealand and placed MYOB Exo Payroll at the center of the company Payroll function.
MYOB Exo Payroll was configured to run fortnightly payroll cycles and to calculate statutory PAYE obligations, supporting the company workflow for monthly PAYE submissions and bimonthly GST processing. The implementation covered core payroll capabilities including gross to net calculations, tax withholding, leave and deduction handling, and generation of payroll reports used in monthly management reporting.
Staff rostering was managed with Roster Manager using Time Target, and roster outputs were operationally aligned with payroll runs to ensure accurate time capture for pay processing. Operational scope included finance and administrative functions, with responsibilities spanning invoicing, AP and AR management, bank reconciliations, financial report preparation and cash forecast support alongside payroll administration.
Governance centered on a dedicated payroll processor who executed fortnightly payroll runs and managed statutory filings, while finance staff produced management packs and reconciliations derived from payroll records. Process controls emphasized regular payroll cadence, tax filing schedules and the integration of rostering data into payroll administration.
