In 2024 Claassen Logistics Netherlands began a DifferIT delivered implementation of AFAS Absence and Leave to extend AFAS HRM and payroll capabilities and automate HR processes, including booking of leave and handling of absence and sick and beter meldingen. The engagement explicitly centers on AFAS Absence and Leave in the Absence and Leave category and restates the full application name for clarity on system scope.
Configuration work focused on standard absence and leave workflows, automated leave expiry calculations, and automated hand offs to the Arbodienst, with business rules in AFAS defining approval routing, entitlement calculations, and expiry logic. AFAS Absence and Leave was configured to produce operational absence records and to trigger the Arbodienst notifications as part of the absence lifecycle.
Technically the implementation integrated leave and absence data directly into Claassen Logistics Netherlands Transport Management System in the Netherlands, enabling real time crew availability feeds for operations planners and reducing administrative work in HR and planning. The project was delivered with AFAS partner DifferIT beginning in 2024 and went live in 2025, covering HR and operations planner workflows across the company and formalizing automated hand offs to external occupational health services.
