| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle E-Business Suite | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014 College of American Pathologists implemented Oracle E-Business Suite to address ERP Financial requirements and centralize financial processing. The deployment sat inside an IT infrastructure composed of nine environments, four legacy and five Oracle, and included a variety of Oracle applications such as E-Business Suite, OBIEE, Hyperion, WCS, UCM, IPM, and SOA.
Oracle E-Business Suite was configured to deliver core ERP Financial capabilities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and consolidated financial reporting, with standard ERP workflows for transaction processing and period close. The implementation emphasized functional configuration and reporting integration consistent with ERP Financial operations while relying on Oracle E-Business Suite modules for financial transaction orchestration and control.
Operationally the E-Business Suite coexisted with analytics and performance tools OBIEE and Hyperion, and with content and integration layers WCS, UCM, IPM, and SOA, however these applications lacked enterprise-wide integration which produced version compatibility, security, and compliance challenges. Identity and access control remained decentralized, with each application and data owner managing internal user rights, resulting in duplicate and poorly managed identities across applications. The environment lacked automation for user onboarding, provisioning, and de-provisioning, leaving the IT help desk responsible for complete identity lifecycle tasks.
Governance deficits required process and workflow restructuring because CAP IT teams lacked the time and expertise to manage fragmented identity processes, increasing operational cost, inefficiency, and security risk as the organization grew. The Oracle E-Business Suite implementation therefore operated within a broader integration and identity management deficit that called for centralized access governance, identity orchestration, and automated provisioning to align ERP Financial workflows with enterprise security and compliance needs.

The deployment of Tovuti LMS supported a portfolio approach to annual compliance programs and ongoing professional development, aligning the application with the companys Learning and Development function and reporting goals.
The implementation emphasized content lifecycle capabilities, including design and delivery of eLearning modules, instructor led courses, and Bite Size Learning sessions. Content production workflows used tools such as Canva, Camtasia, and Articulate for authoring, with Tovuti LMS configured for branding, course cataloging, assignment rules, assessment delivery, and user progress tracking.
Operational ownership sat with the learning and development team, with the Sr. Learning Tech Analyst managing vendor relationships, licensing arrangements, and cross functional coordination to ensure tracking and optimization of training content. Rollout scope included companywide compliance training and targeted departmental learning, supported by measurement and reporting workflows to surface engagement and completion status to leadership.
Governance and process changes were formalized through Standard Operating Procedures covering content publishing, troubleshooting, reporting, and communication during rollouts. The project included ongoing maintenance, issue resolution, and documented procedures to streamline operations, contributing to stated goals of increased operational efficiency and fostering a culture of continuous learning with Tovuti LMS in the Learning and Development organization.

| Salesforce | Legacy | Salesforce Chat (formerly Salesforce Live Agent) | Chatbots and Conversational AI | AI-Powered Application | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020 College of American Pathologists implemented Salesforce Chat (formerly Salesforce Live Agent) on its public website. The deployment aligns with the Chatbots and Conversational AI category and is positioned to support web-based member and clinician engagement and service workflows.
The implementation uses the Salesforce Chat web embed to present a live chat interface to site visitors, coupled with agent console handling for real-time conversations. Typical functional capabilities configured include real-time agent handoff, scripted response templates, session transcript capture, and presence-based routing to available service staff.
Architecturally the solution is delivered as a cloud-hosted chat widget integrated into the CAP website and instrumented to surface chats to Salesforce agent consoles and queues, preserving conversational context and transcripts for downstream review. Operational scope centers on the public site and the organization’s member and service teams, enabling web interactions to be managed within existing Salesforce operational workflows.
Governance emphasis focuses on chat transcript retention, agent response templates, and process changes for handling escalations and follow-up, with configuration and agent training to align conversational handling with CAP service policies.
