In 2011 Commonwealth Cooperative Bank implemented Fiserv Prologue as its core ERP Financial application. The implementation was led from the finance organization in Hyde Park, MA, with consultant-managed IT oversight for system configuration and ongoing desktop and network troubleshooting.
Implementation work centered on a general ledger conversion from IPA Classic GL to Fiserv Prologue, establishing the Prologue general ledger as the system of record. Functional capabilities configured in Fiserv Prologue included general ledger accounting, regulatory reporting workflows to support FDIC Call Report generation, payroll setup and benefits administration, and provision of balance sheet data used by asset liability management processes.
Operational ownership spanned finance, payroll administration, and ALCO activities, with monthly board package preparation and presentation driven from Fiserv Prologue outputs. The deployment maintained direct interaction with external stakeholders, including FDIC and Commonwealth of Massachusetts bank examiners, and preserved the bank relationship with CBERA as part of compliance governance.
Governance and rollout oversight remained centralized under the chief financial officer, who directed the GL conversion, regulatory filing responsibilities, and coordination with the IT consultant while interfacing with examiners for safety and soundness reviews. Fiserv Prologue served as the backbone for accounting controls, regulatory reporting, and payroll record maintenance across the bank.
