Accounting functions remained in QuickBooks, with daily workflows for payroll, accounts receivable and collections, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and daily deposits of checks and credit card charges processed through QuickBooks. The environment integrated an evening synchronization between QuickBooks and ECi Red Falcon to exchange invoice and order data, and staff attached copies of billing invoices to vendor invoices in QuickBooks as part of transactional reconciliation. Operational governance required in house purchasing agent approval before orders were placed, nightly data synchronization to maintain parity between systems, and a defined returns process using return authorizations to issue credits to customer accounts or credit cards. Customer service workflows were split across ECi Red Falcon and QuickBooks, with representatives verifying stock availability across four warehouses and helping customers locate items, while purchasing and accounting maintained transactional and reconciliation controls.
