In 2025 Convotherm implemented QAD Supplier Relationship Management to digitize procurement and centralize supplier management. Convotherm implemented QAD Supplier Relationship Management, a Supplier Relationship Management application, to address supply chain volatility, mounting regulatory requirements such as the German Supply Chain Act, and fragmented sourcing processes that limited supplier visibility and outreach.
The deployment emphasized three core functional modules within QAD Supplier Relationship Management, Supplier Data Management to standardize onboarding and qualification, Sourcing to automate RFQs and broaden supplier participation, and Collaboration to centralize communications and documentation. QAD Supplier Relationship Management was configured to replace manual spreadsheet based sourcing workflows, reducing hour plus RFQ cycles and enabling more consistent supplier qualification criteria and record keeping.
The implementation integrated with Convotherm’s existing QAD ERP environment to align master data and procurement transaction flows, and was rolled out in a phased, process by process approach to avoid overwhelming suppliers. Operational scope focused on sourcing and procurement teams, supplier onboarding workflows, and cross functional documentation needs, enabling a single repository for supplier information that supports compliance tracking and risk visibility across Convotherm’s supplier base.
Governance changes included standardized supplier onboarding and qualification processes, centralized supplier communication protocols, and staged rollout governance to manage supplier adoption. Convotherm digitized procurement with QAD Supplier Relationship Management and realized a reported 3.2x return on investment in the first year while eliminating many manual RFQ tasks and improving supplier transparency.
