In 2017 Corvac Composites implemented Epicor CMS as its core Automotive ERP to support shop floor shipping and inventory workflows at its Greenfield, Ohio site. Records of operational activity show Epicor CMS remained the transactional system used through April 2022 for shipping, receiving, invoicing, and inventory control functions.
Epicor CMS was used daily to create, adjust, and post customer invoices and to record incoming shipments, aligning with order to cash and inventory management capabilities typical of an Automotive ERP. The implementation supported end of month and end of year inventory counts across components and finished goods, and the system was the authoritative ledger for posted transactions used by accounting.
Operational integrations and touchpoints were explicit and pragmatic, attendance and vacation for shipping personnel were monitored in ADP, and day to day communications with OEM buyers such as Toyota and Honda were conducted by email to coordinate shipments. Users complemented Epicor CMS with Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook for reporting, documentation, and communications while a shipping lead managed first and second shift staffing and operational execution.
Governance and workflow responsibilities were centered on the shipping function, where the shipping lead maintained personnel schedules, ensured accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments, and drove invoice posting into Epicor CMS for accounting purposes. Process discipline included cycle counts and month end inventory procedures directly supported by Epicor CMS, establishing clear transactional ownership for shipping, receiving, inventory control, and accounting within the Automotive ERP environment.
