In 2011, Crystal Cruises implemented Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) to support core ERP Financial processes across the company. The deployment was positioned to centralize finance activities supporting the Chairman, CEO, Vice Chairman, EVP of Operations, and VP of Finance, and to underpin commercial and operational interactions with VIP clients, sales teams, and onboard events management.
The Sage Business Cloud X3 configuration focused on financial modules such as cash management and forecasting, budgeting and planning, accounts payable and receivable, purchasing, invoicing, and expense reporting. Monthly financial cadence was enforced, with cash flow, forecasts, budget updates, and final sales data recorded on a monthly basis and budgeting and planning spreadsheets maintained using Sage and X3 programs.
Operational coverage and integrations extended beyond finance to include executive office workflows, operations, sales and HR administrative processes. Calendaring and departmental scheduling were maintained in SharePoint, indicating a collaboration integration between Sage X3 financial records and SharePoint for executive and departmental calendars, while procurement and billing workflows were executed through Sage X3 driven document processes such as purchase orders, invoices, and billing requests.
Governance and workflow restructuring emphasized routine financial controls and administrative support, with staff preparing expense reports and managing confidential HR agreements and contracts alongside the system. The implementation supported event and travel administration for domestic and international executive engagements and annual onboard sales galas, and an individual contributor earned the Employee of the Year Award 2013 for performance during this period.
