In 2007, Damart implemented Oracle OBIEE to centralize dashboarding and enterprise reporting for retail analytics. The Oracle OBIEE deployment served as the presentation and dashboard layer in an Analytics and BI stack built on an Oracle DB data warehouse and ETL pipelines using Business Objects Data Integrator and Talend data integrator.
Implementation work included liaising with business users to analyse and document requirements, dimension data modelling, and Oracle DB data warehouse table design, specification and development. Data integration activities covered sourcing, planning, and implementing data loads with Business Objects Data Integrator and Talend data integrator, alongside end to end data warehouse maintenance and management. Dashboard development and reporting used Oracle OBIEE with security and user access configured, while complementary reporting continued via Microstrategy and Discoverer for specific report sets.
Operational scope targeted business intelligence and reporting functions, with business users engaged through requirements capture, testing and training cycles to embed reporting into routine workflows. Training and user support were explicit components of the engagement to address ongoing reporting needs.
Governance emphasized data model and ETL specification control, scheduled maintenance, and structured upgrade processes, including an upgrade from OBIEE version 10g to 11g. Oracle OBIEE remained the named application for dashboarding and reporting within Damart Analytics and BI operations.
