Yellowfin Legacy Yellowfin BI Analytics and BI Analytics and BI NTT TechnoCross Japan 2014 2014
DENSO Japan implemented Yellowfin BI in 2014. The initiative targeted manufacturing, logistics and inventory management to deliver self-service analytics and reduce manual Excel-based reporting across the company in Japan. The Yellowfin BI deployment, categorized as Analytics and BI, was configured for interactive dashboards, ad hoc reporting, scheduled reporting and self-service data exploration, aligning with standard analytics workflows for visualization and operational reporting. Configuration work emphasized role-based access and report cataloging to support shop floor, procurement and distribution use cases while enabling business users to run their own analyses. With partner NTT TechnoCross Japan, the rollout scaled to thousands of users and peaked at approximately 14,000 active users, extending coverage across plants and regional distribution centers. The implementation focused on procurement and distribution decision-making, embedding Yellowfin BI into operational reporting and inventory review cycles used by manufacturing and logistics teams. Governance and adoption efforts were coordinated with NTT TechnoCross Japan to accelerate user onboarding and sustain usage, introducing analytic ownership and report lifecycle practices common in Analytics and BI programs. The project outcome included a material reduction in manual Excel-based reporting and broader self-service analytics capability across business functions without specifying prior system names.
