In 2010, Diener Law implemented Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise to centralize finance operations across its law practice in Greenville, North Carolina. Diener Law is a professional services firm with approximately 30 employees operating seven offices and servicing thousands of clients across immigration, criminal, traffic, domestic, felony and DMV fraud practice areas, and Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise was introduced to support firmwide finance and accounting functions under an ERP Financial model.
The Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise deployment was configured to manage core ERP Financial capabilities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, client invoicing, fee schedule management and collections. The solution was also used to administer payroll processing, quarterly and year end tax workflows, 401k and worker s compensation audit support, and the segregation and active oversight of trust and operating accounts, aligning system configuration with the firm s existing financial controls and billing practices.
Operationally the Quickbooks Enterprise implementation was connected into the firm s broader application landscape, which includes Sugar CRM, LawLogix, Time Matters, Houdini and Accounting CS, to coordinate case billing, client records and collections workflows across departments. The deployment supported finance activities across multiple offices and practice areas, enabling centralized invoicing and collection processes while retaining case level billing detail needed by attorneys and case managers.
Governance for the Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise implementation was led by the Chief Financial Officer with oversight from the Chief Operating Officer, Human Resource Manager and the leadership team, and included ongoing evaluation of short and long term financial objectives, supervision of collections and accounts workstreams, and process changes for payroll and audit compliance. The implementation established a single ERP Financial backbone for the firm s accounting, payroll and trust account administration, and was embedded into existing case management and client development systems to streamline finance operations without introducing new implementation partners.
