SAS Institute Legacy SAS Business Intelligence Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2014 2014 In 2014, Direct Line Group implemented SAS Business Intelligence. The deployment centralized the insurer's reporting estate onto a SAS Business Intelligence server, consolidating existing reporting from varied platforms and establishing a single Analytics and BI backbone for claims management information. Configuration emphasized SAS Enterprise Guide, Web Report Studio and DI Studio to deliver operational management information, scheduled executive reporting and ETL orchestration. Functional capabilities implemented included executive report suites, management dashboards, benefit driver analysis for claims strategic initiatives and ad hoc analytical workflows. The SAS Business Intelligence environment was the primary production platform for the monthly Executive Reporting suite presented to the Managing Director and senior directors. Operational scope covered the Claims Insight Operational MI Department, Claims Executive and Senior Leadership teams, with analytic consumption by Corporate Actuarial, Finance, Pricing and Underwriting groups. The implementation supported day to day decision making in claims, provided reporting tools for Operational Management and enabled tracking and interrogation of claims benefit initiatives. A structured team model placed MI management and a mix of analysts and technical specialists as custodians of reporting and analytical outputs. Governance was formalized through regular forums to interrogate claims performance, processes to link operational behaviours to benefit delivery via key driver analysis and reporting ownership to support tactical and strategic change. The rollout prioritized standardized management information, analytical modelling and the provision of management information tools to operational stakeholders, aligning Claims, Actuarial and Finance reporting disciplines.
