Sage Legacy Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) ERP Financial ERP n/a 2013 2014
In 2013, Direct Rail Services implemented Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) as an ERP Financial solution. The engagement was scoped as an assignment to review a stalling project and get it back on track, working directly with the in-house PMO to reassess the initial business case, evaluate alternatives to the chosen product and supplier, and size in-house resources required alongside BAU. The project team compiled a functional requirements document covering all areas of the business to secure cross-departmental buy-in, with explicit alignment of Manufacturing and Procurement plans to the ERP Financial implementation. Configuration emphasis included Job Costing using X3 Dimensions functionality, inventory and stock ledger simplification, and defining the datasets required to populate KPI reporting and SMT dashboards. Technical and data workstreams included mapping coding from Sage 500 to Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3), simplifying the current NL 13 character code structure, and rationalizing master data for 4500 plus SKUs across 18 stockholding depots. Operational coverage targeted finance, procurement, stock management and job costing modules, and embedded executive reporting requirements into the solution design. Governance activities addressed supplier contract review for Public Sector procurement compliance and OJEU issues, and the PMO assessed tradeoffs between project delivery and BAU resourcing. The review also identified key process improvement areas deliverable with Sage Business Cloud X3 functionality and flagged potential impacts on job roles as part of rollout and workflow restructuring.

Google Legacy Google Workspace (Formerly Google G-Suite) Collaboration Collaboration n/a 2017 2017
In 2017 Direct Rail Services implemented Google Workspace (Formerly Google G-Suite) as its Collaboration platform. Google Workspace (Formerly Google G-Suite) is observable on the company website, indicating active domain provisioning and corporate tenancy for the organisation that employs approximately 480 staff in the United Kingdom. The deployment centers on standard Google Workspace capabilities, including cloud email, shared calendar, cloud storage and collaborative document editing, with centralized administration through the Google admin console. Functional modules in use align with core Collaboration workflows, such as team document collaboration, shared drives, calendar scheduling, and group email routing. Public signals from the website suggest service-level configuration that routes corporate communications through Google infrastructure, which implies domain DNS configuration and managed user accounts tied to the corporate domain. Operational coverage is enterprise wide, supporting internal communications and knowledge work across corporate functions for Direct Rail Services. Governance is implemented through Google Workspace administration, using role based user and group management to control access and collaboration policies, and standard account provisioning and deprovisioning workflows to support employee lifecycle events. Configuration choices focus on secure, cloud native collaboration tooling consistent with the Collaboration category and with centralized administrative controls.
